Trying to make friends is scary.

Everyone here is a grad student, and when I tell them that I'm doing my undergrad, they are like "Oh." and I don't know what that means, but it never seems to be good. I met this guy named Sadish. He is from India, and he is working on a PhD in Chemical Engineering. He is 21, and he is a nice guy, but he just sort of attached himself to me at this picnic I went to. So then I couldn't walk around on my own and meet other people, which was kind of a pain. We went for a walk around Spartan Village, and then I said that I had to go to the bathroom, so I came back here. But then he wanted to know if I could walk later, and I invited him to come watch this DVD about the Kennedys. And now I wish I hadn't. I think I'm going to go back to the picnic and try to find him. I'll say that I decided to watch it some other night and see if he still wants to walk. I'd rather walk around than have him here at my apartment.

ETA: I found Sadish and we walked around Spartan Village for a while. It was sort of fun. It is nice to have a friend around here, but I kind of wish I had made friends with a girl. Oh well, I'll have to work on that.

Next time there's no way I'm letting you hold my hand to deter Sadish!
